Stay Informed During Emergencies

Âé¶¹Íø Alert is the college’s emergency notification system, designed to keep you informed during emergencies, weather events, and campus closures. Sign up to receive timely alerts via text, email, or phone to ensure you're always up to date and prepared.

All current credit students, non-credit students, and college employees have their primary phone number, and Âé¶¹Íø email address automatically loaded into Âé¶¹Íø Alert from their student or employee record.

Please note:

  • You can login to the Âé¶¹Íø Alert system with your Âé¶¹Íø email address or your primary phone number.
  • You will automatically be removed from the Âé¶¹Íø Alert system when you leave the college or graduate.
  • Âé¶¹Íø Alerts are intended for people on or near campus. These emergency notifications may not be appropriate for everyone.
  • Âé¶¹Íø Alert will contact every phone number and email address you include in your profile.
  • If you choose to be notified via text message regular text messaging rates will apply. Please check with your cell phone provider about your text messaging plan and any costs associated with incoming text messages.
  • Âé¶¹Íø tests the Âé¶¹Íø Alert system at the beginning of each semester. If you do not receive a Âé¶¹Íø Alert on the scheduled test date, please .
  • Âé¶¹Íø does not sell, lease, share, or rent personally identifiable information (names, phone numbers, email addresses, etc.) to any companies or persons outside of the College. Contact information you provide in your Âé¶¹Íø Alert profile will only be used to notify you of a college emergency or college closing.

It is our goal to have all contacts made within 20 minutes of sending the alert. However, circumstances such as the size of the notification audience and the time of day, may affect how quickly all contacts are made.

Voice Messages

  • When a Âé¶¹Íø Alert message is sent, the Âé¶¹Íø Alert system will call each phone number once, even if the number is entered in the system multiple times.
  • Calls from Âé¶¹Íø Alert system will come from the Âé¶¹Íø Alert and Information Line 319-296-4444.
  • We recommend programming a unique and audible ring tone for calls coming from the Âé¶¹Íø Alert number, especially if you set your phone to vibrate mode during class or meetings.

Text Messages

  • If you've opted-in to receive a text message on your cell phone, watch for a text message from Âé¶¹Íø Alert.

Email Messages

  • The Âé¶¹Íø Alert message will be sent to your Âé¶¹Íø email address and any other email address you enter in your Âé¶¹Íø Alert contact preferences.

If you notice your primary phone number is not correct when reviewing your Âé¶¹Íø Alert contact information, please update your student or employee record with your current contact information.

Students can change their primary contact information in Self-Service > Click on your name in the blue bar at the top of the page > Select .

Employees please contact Human Resource Services.

  • Your primary phone number should be the number you want Âé¶¹Íø to contact you for all college business.
  • Updates to your primary phone number in the Âé¶¹Íø Alert may take 12–24 hours.

Âé¶¹Íø is committed to keeping our campus safe and automatically includes all Âé¶¹Íø students and active employees in the Âé¶¹Íø Alert system. However, we realize there may be circumstances where you may choose not to be included in the alert notification system.

  2. Click on the "Edit Profile" button on the top right corner.
  3. Expand the section "My Groups.
  4. Choose your groups you want to unsubscribe or any phone numbers or email address you want to unsubscribe.
  5. Click the "Save Finish" button to save the changes.

You may opt back into the system by removing the check mark in the "Opt out" box.

Former students and staff will automatically be taken out of the Âé¶¹Íø Alert system. You shouldn’t need to take any action when leaving the college.

Request Removal from Âé¶¹Íø Alert System

If you are not a current student or employee and are receiving Âé¶¹Íø Alerts in error, please contact us to be removed from the system.

Email Âé¶¹Íø Alert or call 319-296-4415 and provide your name and the phone number or email address that received the alert.
